  Does anyone else find the initial answer service nauseating and unnerving? Horrible tone and staccato delivery; whining on and on. It's badly recorded and the speaker's voice keeps breaking up. I have to hold the phone away because this voice makes me feel even more ill. Also, most of the telephone clinicians tend to presume that unwell people with no means of transport can somehow hike the hour and a half round trip to Portslade and back. There is a very limited bus service but people on low incomes struggle to find the fare in any case. The merger with the Portslade Clinic causes endless distress and confusion. The people in this part of Hangleton, many of whom are in social housing, are no longer being adequately provided for.
  Surely seeing a doctor and getting medical attention doesn't have to be so convoluted and protracted. Will it take several near deaths or worse before someone sees fit to improve the system? I don't think it's entirely due to lack of money or staff; an easy get out clause. I blame poor management and lack of insight, humanity and common sense. Generally a very poor show.
